As many of you have probably heard it can be a tough life in the North (of England); or at least that’s the line us northerners like to push. Its especially true if you’re trying to do a project on destitute Asylum Seekers, although that hasn’t really got anything to do with The Divide – its just a bloody difficult subject to photograph. A mixture of paranoia and pessimism seems to slowly kill the photographic potential of such a project much like the situation does to the people it effects. I am learning to play Sudanese cards though…
