Trust me
A camera seems to be able to bring out the extremes of trust in someone. While some people run a mile fearing you’ll use their body parts on sordid web sites, others open-up their lives. I’m on this course but I’m very far from being experienced at any of this. It can be a slap when you’re rejected, but a little scary when you realise how much people are willing to show and tell just because you have a camera in your hand. Especially as we tend to go for people in vulnerable positions with delicate issues. Thinking about it though, it shouldn’t be so surprising considering the ‘trust me I’m a photographer’ spiel I’ve been giving out this year. Its only when you’re taken up that you fully realise what you’ve been asking for. In any case its nice to be trusted and to be given the challenge of repaying that trust. (Many thanks for the comments).
